Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 3, 2026

This policy explains what data Intent ("the app") accesses, what it does with that data, and how you can control or remove it. Intent is developed by Ravikiran (contact below). This is a draft prepared for Play Store submission — have it reviewed before publishing if you have specific legal requirements in your jurisdiction.

Summary

Intent is a screen-time and focus app. Its core features (usage analytics, focus sessions, app blocking) work entirely on your device. Intent does not require an account, does not show ads, and does not sell or share your data with third parties.

Intent does use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics for stability monitoring. This is the one place data leaves your device, and it's described in detail below.

Data Intent reads from your device

Data Purpose Leaves the device?
App usage stats (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS) Show your own screen time, app usage breakdowns, and weekly trends inside the app No — read and displayed locally only
Accessibility events (foreground app changes) Detect when a blocked app is opened during an active focus session, to show the blocking overlay No — processed on-device only, no content from other apps is read
Focus session history, daily goals, settings Core app functionality (scores, streaks, progress) No — stored locally in the app's Room database

Intent never reads notification content, screen content, keystrokes, or accessed app data beyond the foreground package name needed for blocking.

Data sent off the device

Intent uses Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics (Google) to detect crashes and app-stability issues in released builds. This can include:

This diagnostic data is sent to Google's Firebase infrastructure and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. It does not include your screen-time data, the names of apps you use or block, or any personally identifying information beyond what's inherent to a crash report.

What Intent does NOT do

How to delete your data

Permissions and why Intent asks for them

Children's privacy

Intent is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
